Introducing the first post in a series of three: Coffee and Clothes! It wasn’t until recently that I discovered my love for coffee and coffee culture. While living in LA this summer, I was surrounded by vibrant coffee shops each with their own ambiance and tastes that drew in a very specific customer type. Although Davis definitely doesn’t have close to the amount coffee shops as LA, it still offers a variety of locations for every type of person whether it be a small family owned cafe or a trendy boho hangout.
To kick off the first installment of the trilogy I decided to check out a popular coffee shop among students: Mishka’s Coffee & Tea Lab! Mishka’s describes itself as being “a friendly and cozy public meeting place following in the tradition of the old cafes of Europe” and that’s just what it is! Mishka’s boasts beautiful red brick walls (my fav), comfy couches, brown hues, and a welcoming staff. When thinking of an outfit idea that represented Mishka’s I immediately thought “city chic”!
When it comes to city vibes in October I thought layers, layers, layers! I recently got this grey knit dress from Forever 21 for only $14 and I thought it acted as a perfect neutral base for the outfit. I didn’t want the look to be too dark so I incorporated this long white coat and added a pop of color with my favorite plaid scarf- both of which added a necessary element of warmth as well. No need to pack away your skirts and dresses for fall and winter — just add some tights and boots! Overall this look was comfy, warm, and still stylish for a morning wandering the streets and catching up with friends at Mishka’s!
