Welcoming the Warm: My Favorite Trends

It’s been a while since I’ve done a fashion post so I called up one of my photographers, Nick, and decided to show my readers (I think I’m at like ten now) this super simple yet put-together look I’ve been wearing recently. In addition to being super comfortable, this outfit also incorporates some of my favorite trends that have been going around. After living and working in retail in Los Angeles this past summer I really feel like I’ve found my home, especially when it comes to fashion and overall lifestyle. I love how easy going LA is while embracing creativity and class.

I’ve been wearing this outfit a ton to class, to the grocery store, and of course to the amazing Davis Farmer’s Market! If you think about it, this outfit is just a white t-shirt and blue jeans. What makes this outfit special is all in the details:

I love these shoes!!! I’m 5’10 so I’m not really an everyday heel kind of girl (even though I would like to be). However, I’ve seen mule style heels EVERYWHERE and I figured I needed some nice casual heels for my sorority events so I bought these ones from Target. People underestimate Target, but honestly its heaven and amazing and I love it and need I say more…

242I got these jeans while I was working at Anthropologie over winter break because I saw on of my fabulous coworkers wearing them and I knew I needed them in my life. After wearing only tight skinny jeans my entire life I felt ready to embrace this new era of denim that is upon us. These jeans are amazing because they seem loose and boyfriend style but are tighter as they go down the leg, adding shape to the body (especially when you don’t have much shape to work with like me). For more amazing jean inspo and overall amazingness check out @songofstyle on instagram. Denim game strong for sure.

Like I said, this outfit is all in the details. I tucked in this simple cotton white tee and threw on my favorite pink paisley neckerchief. I’m secretly obsessed with paisley so wearing this neckerchief always brightens my day and adds a little spice to any outfit. I’ve definitely started to see them showing up in stores over the past couple months and I’m not complaining about it.

Let’s talk about my new sunglasses that I’m literally OBSESSED with. I have a huge problem finding flattering sunglasses because I have a really small face. I walked into the Ray-Bans store and asked the nice gentleman to please give me something “cool and trendy”. Yes, I’m the worst. These were the first one’s I tried on and it was love at first sight. My sunglasses and I are now inseparable and we’ll be getting married soon. Invitations to come.

All my winter clothes are officially out of my closet and I’m ready to rock the warm weather wardrobe! Stay tuned for more summer inspired blog posts and make sure to leave a comment below with what you would like to see here on LifeOfLaili.
